What do you get when you mix over two hundred competitors, thousands of spectators, great food, live entertainment, master sand sculptors, and 450 tons of sand? It's Yoshida's Sand in the City, Presented by Pacific Power - a free community event that benefits the local
chapter of Kids on the Block Awareness Program! Last year's event drew 18 teams and over 75,000 visitors! For information or to register a sand sculpting team, call the Kids on the Block office at (503)736-3200 or email Elizabeth Anderson at elizabeth@powerfulpuppetry.org.
Portland's Sand in the City event is in it's 14th year and has become a community favorite among summer events.
